In my last story to you, I told you about one way to stand out from the noise in your market by talking about the problems people face in your business. Here’s another way.
And it’s something that society craves, yet most people shy away from it.
Sure, it makes you feel a little hesitant at first. Maybe even butterflies. You know how you feel when you step outside your comfort zone.
When you see the power this has to set you apart, you’ll embrace the vulnerability.
Here’s what you need to share. Dun Dun DUNNNN.
Your opinion. Especially when it’s based in truth and it helps others. Surely, it can’t be that easy.
Yet, you won’t hit that “Enter” button when you have something important to say if it has a hint of controversy. Instead of stepping up as a leader, you play it safe and stay quiet.
While that will save you from enemies, it won’t make you any friends. Or even get you noticed. You’ll continue to remain lost in the masses of folks who are just like you. And rob your clients of the information they desperately need.
Yes, I said rob.
It is selfish to have important information that could save somebody from a grave mistake and not share it. Just because you are afraid someone might not like what you say.
Go ahead and tell me if I am wrong.
Otherwise…here’s what to do.
The next time you have one of those lightbulb moments, write it down. Go do something else and think about it for a while. Consider other perspectives. Think about how they will react and prepare your response. Edit your words.
If you still have concerns, then share it with a friend and get some feedback. Or, hit reply and send it with me. I’ll be straight up with you.
Then when you feel good about your message, share it with the world. Expound on it in a blog post. Talk about it on video. Get it out there.
Even if you only get one like, it’s better than zero. People won’t see you as an expert overnight. By doing this time and time again, you’ll position yourself as “the one” people want to work with.
Since you read this far, I’m going to let you in on a secret.
Last week, I closed The Insiders to new members. It was a bold move and I have bigger things on the horizon.
And the first one is all about Lead Generation. If you are struggling to get leads or don’t want to spend your whole commission check on them, then this is for you.
