Earlier this week, Inman reported on the company Houwzer who recently received $2 million from investors.
In their advertising, they claim they are the industry’s first 0% listing commission brokerage. In reality, they are next in a long line of “discount” brokerages.
You have no need to worry about Houwzer, RedFin or the next one who emerges in your area if you follow my lead.
Consumers uses these types of brokers for two main reasons:
- They want to save money.
- They do not understand the value that you bring to the table.
It’s hard to fault them for the first reason. Who doesn’t want to save money, right?
The blame for the second reason falls with you and me. We haven’t done enough to convince the public that they will put more money in their pocket if they work with a World Class Agent like you.
Over the last three years, I’ve been working on a strategy to show people the truth in real estate and making more money at the same time.
It’s probably the easiest marketing that I’ve ever done, but it does take some time. So, if you want to beat the knuckleheads and bring more clients to your side, then do these three things.
Three steps to beating the discount brokers
- Create a database of leads and prospects
- Frequently contact them
- Provide valuable info that both entertains and demonstrates how you can solve their problems
While the process is simple, discovering what works best was difficult.
When I started down this path, there was no one else in our industry marketing like I am now. So, I had to develop everything from scratch. And had to use trial and error to prefect the system.
